En esta crónica, Partiquino recuerda a Joan Crawford, quien luego de una difícil vida, adopta cuatro niños, convirtiéndose en el foco de atención y renovando su imagen en la farándula hollywoodense. Una vez grande, una de sus hijas decide escribir una biografía entorno a su vida junto a la de Joan, a partir del cual se creó una nueva y malformada imagen de la actriz. El autor deja la pregunta a los lectores sobre los límites de la publicidad, y cómo esta puede afectar la vida de las personas.
