Para Partiquino, el misterio de la inmortalidad de este personaje, y el traspaso de su concepción ficcional a una casi real, es intrigante. Incluso el acaparamiento de la imagen de este por sobre el autor, es un aspecto que cabe cuestionarse hoy en día, donde la figura de Sherlock Holmes es aún más reconocida que la de su autor, Conan Doyle.
