Sergio Vodanovic escribe a Jaime Sanin para comentar los conflictos ocurridos en el Festival de Manizales. En la carta, Vodanovic menciona haber recibido presiones abusivas, junto con el resto del jurado, para negar su voto a Colombia. Los motivos de estas presiones se justifican en la posible pérdida de prestigio del Festival si es que el premio volviera a ganarlo el país que convoca el evento y, por otra parte, por las características políticas que presenta la obra de Colombia. Vodanovic se manifiesta dolido y molesto por lo ocurrido.
