El descubrimiento de la ópera para Partiquino fue a través de Gian Carlo Menotti, y desde ahí, el autor ha podido interiorizarse con la euforia que genera esta pasión. La poca valoración que tiene la innovación en esta escena, y las dificultades para perdurar con lo experimental, lo hace comparable en cierta medida, para Partiquino, con el tango. Sin embargo, se abstiene de asegurar esta afirmación, y concluye con humor, insinuando que probablemente luego lo veten del Teatro Municipal.
