La curiosa reflexión que Partiquino propone en esta crónica, parte del un título propio de la urbe. El contraste, y la constante inquietud por la transición de un período pre moderno a la inevitable modernización, implica que intelectuales como Vodanovic decidan hacerse cargo de estos. De esta manera, la crónica pone en contraposición dos posturas: una a favor y una en contra de la construcción del metro. Si bien el autor toma partido por la realización de este proyecto, deja el texto inconcluso con la discusión abierta, lo que facilita que el lector continúe con el debate.
